ABOUT US

IndiePicks is book review publication (available in e- and print monthly subscriptions) dedicated to independent publishers and authors. Part of the Patomi Media Group, IndiePicks was founded in 2017 by publisher Naomi Blackburn.

Our review team consists of well-known readers’ advisory librarians, who review with an eye towards making suggestions to collection development librarians as well as to general readers.

Our Mission

Our goal is to celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of the independent publishing houses and those who have chosen the indie route to bring their books to market.

Our audience includes libraries, independent bookstores, and the readers they serve. Our magazine focuses reviews, as well as interviews, articles, and other entertaining columns related to topics in the indie media world. While we are starting with books, we recognizing the excellence of indie-produced music and film and will soon cover those areas as well.

Our Editorial Policy

Our editors evaluate and select for review the best books in a variety of categories. IndiePicks is a recommend-only resource, so we will only publish reviews of quality work that our reviewers think belong in public library collections, and that are appropriate for a wide audience of readers. Books selected for review are at the discretion of our editorial staff and our review team; we do not charge for reviews.
